I've recently been inspired by Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon a Time:
She's feminine, practical, and stylish -- all things I will be needing to consider while continuing my nannying job this fall. Not so much digging the pixie-cut, but it looks just fair on her. One thing I've learned with a summer of nannying: I want my clothes to be kid-proof and cute. Also, Ginnifer Goodwin is a fellow (albeit petite) curvy-girl so I can take styling cues! The costume designers did such a good job bringing her personality into her wardrobe ... love it.
Skinny Jeans & Heels & Boots:
Inspired by many curvy fashionistas, I want to try a pair of skinny jeans this year -- especially with boots or high heels. Another curvy friend and I plan to shop for a well-fitting pair together. I hate the painted-on look; I want a pair that will go well with longer tops (I would love to get a sweater-tunic) and stuff well into boots. Also, you can't beat skinny jeans and a trench-coat or blazer.
Cardigans
Also inspired by Ginnifer Goodwin and my love of all things vintage, I want to get a couple of short cardigans to pair with skirts and dresses.
Silk Neck-Scarves
Always one for that Hepburnism, I have ordered a few silk scarves and will be styling them this fall as a way to expand the versatility of my wardrobe.

Hats
I really want to get a couple of different hats to wear this fall. I will be getting bangs of some sort "put in", if that's how you say it, next weekend and I'm looking forward to trying different styles of hats/headbands/etc.
Yes. I am ready for autumn. This is going to be fun.
all of these looks are gorgeous. I'm ready for fall too

I'm so ready for fall, too! Those outfit ideas are adorable! It's starting to feel like fall in NY...it's been in the low 60's this week. =)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! <3
DeleteWoman, I wish we could shop together. I too need a new pair of jeans for the fall—and I love your other selections.
ReplyDeleteAutumn fashion. Yes. <3
I'm curvy, just not in the conventional way, and I would love to go shopping with you girls. XD Someone has been pin-bombing my Pinterest feed with adorable autumn styles, and now I want autumn to come so badly with sweaters and chai tea and the stirring sense of tally-ho which cooler weather brings. ^_^
ReplyDeleteChai tea? Oh yes. Jeans shopping? Well, if I could tease you about needing me to reach the top pairs for your dinkiness, then all right. ;)
DeleteI too need a good pair of skinny jeans, as my old standby bit the dust just before summertime (and since it was summer, I haven't been too pressed to replace them). I wish we could all go shopping together, seeing as I'm not the first to concur with you. What fun that would be!
ReplyDeleteFall fashions are fantastic; I'm personally very excited for boots. There's just something so equestrian and dependable about a sturdy pair of knee-highs. <3
If I could get my obnoxious calves into knee-highs, yes! XD
DeleteI think I pinned most of your silk scarf pins. I loooove the look of them, but I cannot find very many real silk ones in my colors. May I ask where you bought yours?
ReplyDeleteLivia, I'm afraid the ones I bought are probably not silk at all. I think they were labeled "silk style" and I purchased them off of Amazon because they were cheap. Try Etsy.com, though! Also, I know many antique stores actually carry silk scarves--real vintage ones! So if you pop into one of those, perhaps you'll have luck!
DeleteI am petite, but I'm also really curvy, and skinny jeans terrify me! I love the way they look on thin, sleek people, ;) but my hips. . .yeah. . .you can really see them. :P I usually wear boot cut jeans, since they seem to balance things out a bit, but I love the look of skinnies with big sweaters. . .and they come in so many colors and patterns! I think. . .I think I'm going to have to be brave. ;) Thanks for the inspiration!
