Best Foot Forward: Day Five

We had a bit of snow last night. A bit. The flakes were positively enormous (while they lasted) and knowing that it probably wouldn't last (the picture is from this morning) I went out and wandered in the dark as the giant flakes came down. It was frabjous.

Last night Sarah executed on my nails a design I'd wanted to try. I took some Sally Hansen "Innocent Nude" polish, and painted a coat or two on my nails, then did gold and black accents. I covered all that with clear topcoat. I hardly ever paint my nails because I type so much that it comes right off. Plus, household things are detrimental. I was making cinnamon rolls at 11 last night and chipped a nail. Go figure.

Today was simple and "elegant" without splitting away from casual. How does that happen? Well it starts out with a soft black tunic-style shirt, and jeans.

This outfit was comprised of three colors: Gold, pearl, and black. A very elegant combination, without being "in yo face" about it.

My makeup was very simple today, as the main focus of the outfit was the belt and gold accents. Simple makeup helps keep the casual look of an outfit as well. I used my Rimmel of London "Sweet Smoulder" again, mascara, and Revlon lipstick in "Softsilver Rose." I bought it yesterday while out, and love the color--a very soft, sweet pink.

I did my hair in a sort of messy-bunnish thing with a braid crossed over the top. I didn't show you the back because there's a hideous bobby-pin cross I needed to make so it wouldn't slump. I didn't bother to hide it.

The Jewelry consisted of a garnet pendant, my dragon-gold bracelet, and some random gold and pearl "orchid" earrings got from some obscure source in the long-distant past.
