The Pink Trench: A product review

I am so pleased to once again be reviewing a product from the company of Gorgeously-Fitted Clothes, eShakti! When they generously agreed to let me review another product, I decided to go a little wild and order a trench-coat...and not just any trench-coat, but a bright pink one! In a choice between light tan and vibrant pink, what did you think I would choose? I am so glad I went with the magenta option. I mean, really, if you are choosing between looking like everyone else on earth or looking like a confident, beautiful young woman, which would you rather choose? Or maybe my personality is just big and bright enough to carry off the pink trench. People just shake their heads and laugh and say, "Yep, the coat's you." So, you know, maybe it's just me. ;)

eShakti's clothing gives me license to be bubbly, bouncy, and full of fun.
What else would you expect from a girl perfectly-fitted pink trench?

Want one of your own? Check out the dozens of gorgeous dresses at eShakti and pick the one that displays your personality best! I bet you'll be able to find something you love. :)

eShakti product review: My "Hepburnism" dress!

Hello everyone! Yes, I am supposed to be on a month-long social media break but I knew that I needed to break that fast once during the month to post my latest review of eShakti's gorgeous products! When Jane from eShakti approached me about selecting a dress from the Fall/Winter collection I was more than willing, obviously. I have been wanting a LBD (little black dress) for a long time. For all my fashion consciousness, I failed to own one of these versatile closet items! So I knew that I would choose one of the numerous black dresses listed on eShakti's site.

After consulting with my friend Katie who is an authority on the subject, I chose the jersey-knit fit-and-flare dress in black. I customized the dress to my specific measurements (made SO easy by the site!) and chose a wide-scoop neckline and elbow-length sleeves. The dress came in a surprisingly short period of time and fit like a dream. My favorite eShakti dress to date! I cannot wait to begin styling this LBD different ways. For the shoot I chose my cousin Matthew (www.matthewsphotographyblog.blogspot.com) and he did an excellent job of taking the photos, don't you think? I have no practice modeling so my expressions are somewhat curious but the point is the dress, oui? It was a gorgeous fall day and I had a blast finding random corners, doorways, and bits of town to pose in while Matthew snapped away.

"Hepburnism". That's what this outfit has. No way to NOT feel classy wearing this comfortable, chic dress! It is breathable, beautiful, and can be dressed up or down per the wearer's taste.

Please check out eShakti's website. The customer service is prompt, the dresses high quality, and the fit impeccable! I also forgot to mention that every dress comes with pockets unless otherwise specified which is just the bomb. In addition to these things, if you would like a necklace like the one I am wearing, you may purchase one in The Warren! "Rutupiae Medallions" are made from re-fashioned bracelets and feature a wax seal depicting pen and inkwell and are available in three colors. :) As you can see, they are classy and work beautiful with this now-favorite gown from my favorite online dress retailer! :)

See you in December!

eShakti Dress Review: Dotted Retro Poplin!

The time has come! I was going to do my review for eShakti earlier, but my photographer severely sprained his ankle and life came up so now I'm here at last. Sarah was a dear and came with me, being patient while I fastened my ridiculous (and very chic) shoes before getting out of the car, then took them off when I started to drive again, then performed the whole ritual once or twice more.

The dress. I chose the Dotted Retro Poplin Shirtdress in cobalt blue, and custom-sized it.

As expected, eShakti came through with a dress that fits like it was made for me because, frankly, it was! I lengthened the sleeves and the skirt to reorganize into a style that would flatter my shape best, and I am so happy with the dress.

(Notice the bold, coral-colored wedges? Got those at Payless for $10 last weekend. ^.^)

I adore the color of the dress, the fit, and the style as well as all the little details that make eShakti dresses so magnifique! The collar  is especially nice, and the little polka-dot buttons are too adorable. And pockets! eShakti dresses have pockets! Two of them. Perfect for stashing lipstick, cellphone, and whathaveyous without needing to carry a purse. Oh--and do excuse the wrinkled waist--I was driving and not overly careful of creasing. :P

Thank you, eShakti, for the gorgeous dress!

Oh. And before I forget, there was a glitch with the former coupon-code online. Because of that, eShakti has given me a new coupon code for you all, and extended the date till March 25, 2013!

New Code: LSSFLLTRDE85

Enjoy the extended date, and check out some of the company's absolutely amazing dresses. :) The quality is well worth what you'll pay for a dress you'll love.

eShakti: a wonderful deal just for my readers. :)

Do you girls remember when I did a review of a custom-made dress for eShakti.com? That was back in Autumn, and I chose a black-and-blue semi-formal dress that fit perfectly because of the awesome custom-sizing eShakti allows you to concoct. The past couple of weeks I have been sighing over their Spring Line of clothes, and in particular the dresses. There is just something about the dresses on this site and that you stand up and pay attention. One of my favorite things about the company is the fact that so many of their dresses are vintage-inspired.

You could feel delightfully "Ginger Rogers" in this dress:

Or pretty and chic in this one:

Or preppy and perfect in this!

Whatever your body-type and style, eShakti has options for you. I seriously haven't seen a dress I hated on their site, and their prices are very very decent. But sometimes decent wants a break too, so I am very very pleased to announce that Jennifer Mayer of eShakti has created a special coupon code just for this blog and my readers! :)

Here is the deal, and I quote:
Code has to be entered in the 'Promotional Code' box. No Minimum Order Value. The discount code is not case sensitive. The code can be used any number of times until the validity period. This code can be clubbed with any other gift coupon or gift card in the same order. This discount code is not applicable on our Overstock category. Not applicable on previous purchases.
And here, my dears, is the code itself! It is valid from 2/26/13 to 3/10/13, so there is plenty of time to squeeze in an order! The dresses truly are very reasonably priced (especially considering the quality!) and the 20% off coupon will make the prices even spanglier!

LSSFLLTRDE

"Oooooh," "ahhhhh," and admire all you want. It's yours for the taking. And the especially wonderful thing about it all? I was requested to do another product review for this splendid company. I got to choose three dresses and they would send whichever one of them the company chose for my review. I got my dress yesterday and....wow. It's gorgeous. Matthew and I will be working on a photo-shoot this week, and you'll get to see all about it!

I am really excited!

Glorious Blues: eShakti product review!

When I contacted Ms. Jennifer Mayer of eShakti about doing a dress review, I had not expected she would take me up on the offer. But when I got the very prompt email that eShakti would indeed be pleased if I would feature one of their beautiful dresses on this blog, I was estatic. After much debating over the gorgeous array of items on the website, I picked my poison:

 (caught mid-spin, eh?)

One of the first things about eShakti that greatly impressed me was the promptness of all communications: Ms. Mayer got back with me extremely quickly and the order was filled and shipped soon after. The coolest thing about this up-and-coming company is that they exist just to provide custom clothing for you. Of course you can buy ready-made sizes, but there are also slots for nearly every measurement that you can fill in with your own particular sizes. Beyond custom fitting you can also choose various alterations to the styles of the dresses ( neckline, sleeve, length, etc.) for a very reasonable price.

My dress was ordered and I waited eagerly for it. Within a week and a half I got an email that my dress had shipped from the site in India....the next day it was at my doorstep. I was astonished (and ecstatic!) that service was so fast! I pulled the dress out of the packaging, and with the consideration an relatively experienced seamstress weighed the garment in my hand. It was amazingly well-made, and the dress felt nice. It looked amazing too, but I was even more impressed with the handiwork. I fell deeper in love when I found the hidden pockets! Two big deep ones that could hold a cell-phone or lip-gloss or whatever! <3

The only slight glitch I had with the product is no fault of eShakti itself--the sweet-heart neckline was too low for me, so I ripped some lace off an old slip and pinned it inside to make a little more modest.

All told, eShakti now has my full, enlightened, applauding approval and I say "get thee a dress as soon as can be!" The shop is full to bursting with glorious styles for this Autumn Season!
